Pakistanis have taken to streets of the port city of Karachi on the international Human Rights Day to stage an anti-US demonstration.

On Wednesday, the protesters slammed the Washington’ flagrant rights violations inside and outside the country.

The demonstrators shouted anti-US slogans as they carried pictures of the US police shooting victims, Michael Brown and Tamir Rice, as well as jailed Pakistani scientist Aafia Siddiqui, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances in Karachi years ago.

She finally ended up in the US where a court sentenced her to 86 years in prison after it found her guilty of the attempted murder of American military officers in Afghanistan in 2008.

The Pakistani demonstrators also censured the United Nations for turning a blind eye on Washington’s deadly drone strikes in Pakistan.

Washington claims its drone strikes target militants, although casualty figures clearly indicate that Pakistani civilians are the main victims of the attacks.

The killing of Pakistani civilians, including women and children, in the US drone strikes has strained relations between the two allies, prompting Pakistani officials to send warnings to the US administration over the assaults.
