Syrian Army Pushes Back Terrorists in Various Parts of Homs Province
The Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist groups failed to resists against the Syrian Army’s massive raid in different parts of the strategic province of Homs, leaving behind many killed and wounded.
The ISIL terrorists’ strongholds near al-Sikhna, Deir Foul and al-Ghantou in the countryside of Homs were targeted by the Syrian soldiers, who killed several fighters and arrested so many others.
Some members of the ISIL launch an attack from different directions against al-Hifna well near al-Sikhna town, 40 km to the Northeast of Palmyra city, but they were pushed back by the army and left so many killed bodies in the battlefields.
The terrorists of al-Nusra Front, the so-called Homs Legion and al-Farouq Brigades also lost ground in their fight against the Syrian commandoes near al-Rastana.
Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.
Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.
An international peace conference on Syria, dubbed Geneva-2, organized by Russia and the United States and designed to negotiate a solution to the Syrian crisis, held in January and February 2014, brought no particular progress.
