For two straight weeks, the conglomerate of terrorist militias “Ansar Al-Shari’ah” had relentlessly targeted the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) controlled Al-Zahra Association Quarter of west Aleppo.

Those two weeks were nothing short of hell for the soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army, National Defense Forces (NDF), and Liwaa Al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigades), as the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” – alongside their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen – attempted to infiltrate into the Air Force Intelligence building, the Great Prophet Mosque, Building 11, the Judicial Palace, and the Aleppo Orphanage repeatedly.

The soldiers of the Syrian Armed Forces remained un-phased by the joint Islamist assault on the Al-Zahra Association; in fact, the numerous attacks into this area cost the Islamist groups a significant amount of combatants and the destruction of their heavy armory, thanks in large part to the well-prepared soldiers of the SAA, NDF, and Liwaa Al-Quds.

On Saturday, the Syrian Armed Forces imminently awaited another assault by the Islamist rebels (Ansar Al-Shari’ah); however. no such attack would come, as the tumultuous sound of gunfire, mortar shells, and rockets were absent from the Al-Zahra Association Quarter for the first time in two weeks.

As a result of the Islamist rebels high casualty count and numerous offensive failures in the Al-Zahra Association Quarter, Ansar Al-Shari’ah has been silenced along this front.

This does not mean that Asnar Al-Shari’ah will not attack again; however, it appears their momentum around the provincial capital has dwindled during these clashes.
