Hamas: We may have to take action to stop PA arrests in WB

Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, warned of the continuation of the PA large-scale arrest campaigns against Hamas members in the West Bank. “We may take action to stop PA detention campaigns”, Hamas said.

In a statement on Monday night, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri called on concerned Arab countries and Palestinian factions to shoulder their responsibilities to stop the PA arrest campaigns in the West Bank in order to avoid dire consequences in the Palestinian arena.

The resistance movement Hamas did not explain what steps or positions to be taken in case of the continuation of political arrests against its members and activists in the West Bank.

The PA has detained 250 Hamas members since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

The arrest campaign falls in line with the policy of security coordination with Israel and in the wake of a series of resistance attacks in the West Bank against the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) as well as settlers.
