Senior Nusra Militant Commander Killed by Gov’t Forces in Syria’s Idlib
“The Syrian army troops and the National Defense Forces hit the positions of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front in the Southwestern part of Maarat al-Nu’aman near the village of Kafr Sijneh and killed 23 terrorists, including Nusra field commander Abdul Qader al-Sbeih,” the army said.
“The Syrian fighter jets, meantime, bombed the Takfiri terrorists’ positions near the village of Maarat Dibseh in Saraqib region in the Southern territories of the province,” the army added.
Also on Sunday, a senior commander of Liwa al-Ansar terrorist group was killed in the Syrian Army attack in Jisr al-Shughour in the Southern part of Idlib province.
“Samer Hajj Najib, a leader of Liwa al-Ansar, was killed alongside several of his forces in the Syrian army’s offensive in the Southern battlefields of the province of Idlib,” the sources said.
“In the meantime, at least 17 Takfiri militants were killed and many more were wounded in the Syrian armed forces’ assaults near the village of Faylun South of Idlib city,” the sources added.
