Commander: Iran Self-Sufficient in Maintaining, Overhauling Helicopters

“The Airborne unit can now overhaul and fix helicopters without any help from the outside world,” General Yari said in the Western city of Kermanshah on Tuesday.
He said his forces are ready to defend the country against foreign threats round the clock, adding that the Airborne unit plays an important role in deterrence.
In relevant remarks, Head of Iran’s Helicopters Company Seyed Mahmoud Azin had said Iranian experts could repair and overhaul all types of choppers.
“We can overhaul helicopters and check them after every three thousand hours of flight,” Azin told FNA.
He underlined the high capabilities of the Iranian pilots, and said, “Even the Americans know how high the capabilities of the Iranian pilots are.”
Also in February 2015, Managing-Director of Iran’s Helicopter Renovation and Logistics Company (PANHA) General Mohammad Ali Ahmadabadi announced that the country’s latest home-made helicopter, ‘Homa’, is having its final flight tests.
“The helicopter has been built as a result of the efforts of PANHA company and is a 14-seater chopper,” Ahmadabadi told reporters in Tehran.
“Homa has had its test flight and is now in the final test stage,” he added.
