Israeli artillery fired, on Wednesday morning, several shells toward an open area northeast of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

Palestinian media sources reported that the shelling came after the Israeli occupation claims that an Israeli military digger was targeted with a mortar shell east of Rafah.
Several Israeli military bulldozers and diggers penetrated in the early hours this morning east of Rafah and started digging operations in an attempt to search for tunnels.
