Israel can never defeat the resistance

A senior Hamas official has asserted that any Israeli act of aggression is destined to fail in the face of the steadfastness displayed by the Palestinian people.
“They can’t accomplish anything against the people, who resist the occupation,” the deputy chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook, told Press TV.
Speaking on the anniversary of the beginning of Israel’s December 2008-January 2009 war on the Gaza Strip, he said Tel Aviv launched the assault for political gain. Israel sought to break the resistance of the Palestinian people and to remove Hamas from Gaza, he noted.
“They want(ed) to accomplish the many aims at that time and the Israeli troops failed to accomplish any of those aims,” he added.
Tel Aviv tried to justify its decision to start the war by claiming it had been targeted by home-made rockets reportedly fired from Gaza. However, the projectiles are seldom known to have caused any casualties or considerable damage to Israeli property.
The Gaza war killed more than 1,400 Palestinians and inflicted over $1.6 billion in damage on the besieged territory’s economy.
Marzook also called for unity among all Palestinians.
