Syrian Army troops and popular forces continued their advances against Jeish al-Islam terrorists in Eastern Ghouta, capturing at least 25 square kilometers and developing control near the key city of Douma.

Syrian government forces fortified their positions in Tal (Hill) al-Sawan and took full control over Tal (Hill) Kurdi and their nearby regions in an area at least 25 square kilometers in depth.

Jeish al-Islam terrorists suffered a heavy death toll and retreated from the battlefield but set fire to their bases and factories before leaving the region.

With the seizure of Tal (Hill) al-Sawan and Tal (Hill) Kurdi, the Syrian army and its allies are to storm al-Shifouniyeh and al-Reihan to pave the ground for the eventual capture of Jeish al-Islam’s main stronghold.

In relevant developments in the province on Monday, Syrian military forces continued to beat Jeish al-Islam terrorists back from more positions in Eastern Ghouta, inflicting a heavy death toll on the militants.

Syrian army soldiers struck Jeish al-Islam’s defense line in Tal (hill) Kurdi from the two regions of Hawsh Nasri and al-Reihan, taking control of large parts of Tal Kurdi after hours of non-stop battle.

The army men also captured al-Ma’amel (industrial) zone in Eastern Damascus.

After terrorists’ defeats in Tal Kurdi, their comrades in al-Ma’amel region retreated from the battlefield.

The army soldiers also won back Tal Sawan school and a popcorn company in the region.

Elam al-Harbi – an Arabic language website that makes official war announcements – said Tal Sawan has been captured by the Syrian military forces.

A military column of Jeish al-Islam that was heading to Tal Sawan also came under attack by the Syrian army.

The Syrian army also detonated a tunnel of the terrorists connecting Zmelka bridge to Jobar town in Eastern countryside of Damascus.

According to army sources, the next target of the Syrian soldiers will be al-Shifouniyeh.
