Terrorists Suffer Heavy Defeats in Clashes with Syrian Army in Southwestern Damascus

The Syrian Army troops engaged in clashes with Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Southwestern Damascus on Saturday, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.

The army men engaged in tough battle with Al-Nusra on the Eastern slops of Hill Tal al-Maqtoul East of Beit Jinn Farm, killing a number of militants and destroying their equipment.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery and missile units targeted terrorists’ movements and positions in Beit Jinn Farm, al-Mughur al-Mir, Tal Marvan, al-Zahar al-Aswad and al-Zayat regions.

A field source said that the army is planning to capture al-Haramoun region in Southwestern Damascus.

The source further added that the army has been advancing against terrorists despite Israeli forces’ missile attacks on its positions in the region.

Relevant reports said on Friday that the army men, supported by the artillery units’ heavy fire, captured several hills overlooking Jabal al-Sheikh region, trying to separate the towns of al-Mughur al-Mir and Beit Jinn and Beit Jinn farm from the towns of Beit Tima, Kafr Hoor and Beit Saber that had previously joined the peace agreement.

Field sources reported that the Al-Nusra has carried out several counter-attacks to recapture lost lands before the army men fortify their positions there.
