Iran unveils new missile system during military exercises

Iran unveiled a new missile system during their military exercises that took place in the capital city of Tehran this week.

According to a CSIS report, the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) showcased their new surface-to-air missile system on the second day of their military.

The Iranian military unveiled and tested their new domestically-made Mersad missile system, which marked the first time that the public could see it in action.

“The Mersad system is normally paired with the Shalamcheh surface-to-air missile, but the new missiles and carrier vehicle enhance Mersad’s mobility and range. In a separate exercise, the IRGC Aerospace Force tested its Basheer 3D radar,” the CSIS report added.
