Syrian Army Chief of Staff: Syria Overcame Foreign Plots

General Fahd Jassem al-Freij, Chief of Staff of the Syrian army, on Sunday said that Syria managed to overcome the external plot because of the awareness of the Syrian people and the reform program led by President Bashar al-Assad.

The remarks came during the celebration of graduating a new patch of officers at the Air Force Academy and the 65th anniversary of the Air and Air Defense Forces Day, held under the patronage of President al-Assad.

General Freij added that “They planned to instigate sedition in the country, but the Syrians converted the plot into a major scandal for those who are responsible for the hegemony projects. They thought they can make Syria weaker.”

He indicated that Syria has friendships with many superpowers as Russia, China and India and they will side with Damascus against all plots, challenges and conspiracies.
