Yemeni military’s unprecedented drone strike in the heart of Tel Aviv on Friday has sent ripples of shock, fear and helplessness among both settlers and Israeli regime officials.
It came in response to the Israeli regime’s continued genocidal crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where the death toll is now approaching the 29,000 mark, most of them children and women.
Yemeni military and resistance have carried out a string of operations in support of Gaza over the past several months, but Friday’s drone strike was the first-of-its-kind operation since October 7, 2023.
Israeli regime also carried out strikes on the western Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah on Saturday, which was followed by another operation by the Yemeni military on Sunday morning, targeting southern occupied Palestinian territories as well as an American vessel in the Red Sea.
Yemeni social media users have been upbeat over recent operations against the Israeli regime and have extended full support to their government and military in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Ahmed Hassan, a social media influencer from Yemen, in a series of tweets after the Yemeni military operation against Tel Aviv, said he thanked God for Yemeni solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians.
“Thank God we have become partners with Gaza in their pain. A great blessing from God to Yemen to be a human shield for Gaza,” he wrote, expressing full solidarity with people in the besieged territory.
In another tweet, after Israel targeted the province of al-Hudaydah, he said Yemenis were waiting for it.
“The issue with Israel has now become personal. The war will not stop now unless we expel Israel from the region or 34 million Yemenis die. There is no third solution,” Hassan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Hussin Al-Kebsi, another social media user from Yemen, also extended full support to Yemeni military operations against the apartheid regime in Tel Aviv in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
“In this time, this is the natural tax for all who are still attached to honor, goodness, freedom, and humanity. Only a hero in solidarity with Gaza gets bombed by Israel,” he wrote on X.
Mohamed Abdul-Malek, a social media influencer from Yemen, said Israeli attacks are “no big deal.”
“Why are the Israelis happy? Bombing Hudaydah is not something to be proud of! It’s not a big deal! For 10 years, Yemen has been bombed, but who bombed Tel Aviv before? Only Yemen,” he wrote.
Abdul Hamid Sharwan, a journalist from Yemen, in a post on X, reaffirmed his support for the Yemeni military “to take all measures with authority” against the Zionist entity.
“I, the Yemeni citizen, Abdul Hamid Sherwan, grant Commander Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may God protect him, full and absolute authority to take all escalatory measures and go to the furthest point of the war to break the Zionist enemy, whatever the sacrifices and consequences,” he wrote on X.
“I affirm that my blood, the blood of my children, my family, and everything we own are sacrificed for the Yemeni armed forces…I urge our heroes in the Yemeni armed forces to do everything they can in this battle to support people in Gaza until we achieve victory or we are all destroyed.”
Yemen’s military on Saturday vowed to keep up their pro-Palestinian operations after Israeli warplanes targeted buildings, oil facilities, and a power station in the western Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the country’s military is “preparing for a long war with this enemy until the aggression ceases, the siege is lifted, and all crimes committed against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are stopped.”
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, also warned Israel of “effective operations” in retaliation for the regime’s strike on al-Hudaydah.
“We will have effective operations that will disturb the temporary entity, and this crime will not deter us from continuing to support the Palestinian Gaza,” he asserted.
