The families of the Israeli captives held in Gaza have accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of delivering a speech on Monday that was filled with falsehoods. They have also charged Netanyahu with “criminal negligence” concerning the captives’ situation.

On Monday, Netanyahu made an uncommon public apology to the families of six captives whose bodies were recovered over the weekend. He also reaffirmed that the Zionist entity would not “compromise” on retaining its military presence in the Philadelphi Corridor.

“My heart, along with the heart of our nation, is broken into pieces. … I seek your forgiveness for our failure to bring them back alive. We were close, but ultimately, we did not succeed,” Netanyahu stated during a press conference.

The Israeli Prime Minister stated, “Israel should not be compelled to make concessions that could strengthen Hamas.”

In this situation, he denied the claim that the six captives were killed because his conditions had blocked an agreement.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum, representing the families of Israeli captives, reacted sharply to Netanyahu’s press conference, accusing him of giving “a speech filled with lies and misleading statements.”

Members of the forum expressed disappointment over what they perceive as the prime minister’s neglect in prioritizing the return of the Israelis detained in Gaza.

“The forum stated that the majority of Israelis, who advocate for the hostages’ release, will no longer tolerate this criminal negligence.”

Later on Monday, Hamas’ Al-Qassam released a video featuring one of the six Israeli captives mentioned in an earlier statement.

In a video message, Eden Yerushalmi implored, “Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government, take the actions needed to secure our release. We are enduring immense suffering, and the relentless bombings only heighten our fear for our lives.”

Netanyahu’s Press Conference Disrupted Negotiations

Meanwhile, a source familiar with the ongoing negotiations regarding the captive release-ceasefire deal told CNN that Netanyahu had undermined the negotiators’ attempts with his briefing.

According to a report from CNN, negotiators persisted in their efforts on the ceasefire proposal despite the Israeli occupation forces retrieving the bodies of six Israeli captives from Gaza.

After Netanyahu insisted on Israel maintaining control of the Philadelphi Corridor along the Gaza-Egypt border during a press conference, an anonymous source involved in the negotiations told CNN, “He ruined everything with just one speech.”
