Drone strike wounded three individuals in southern Lebanon as tensions persist despite a fragile ceasefire agreement

According to reports, at least three individuals sustained injuries following an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon. This incident occurred less than 24 hours after a ceasefire agreement came into effect between Israel and the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah.

According to a report from Israeli Army Radio, an attack occurred on Thursday near a vehicle in the village of Markaba, located in southern Lebanon. Further specifics have not been disclosed at this time.

After enduring significant losses and not achieving its objectives during over 14 months of conflict, Israel was compelled to enter into a ceasefire with Hezbollah. The cessation of hostilities, which marks an end to the protracted confrontation with Lebanon, was officially implemented at 04:00 local time (0200 GMT) on Wednesday.

In response to an Israeli military offensive in Gaza in October 2023, Hezbollah initiated a support campaign for Palestinians, launching a series of counterattacks on Israeli positions in the occupied territories. This move came just a day after Israel began its operation in the region.

In the wake of the truce announcement, the resistance movement has issued a warning, asserting its complete readiness to respond to any future Israeli hostilities directed at Lebanon. The group emphasized that the recent ceasefire agreement was a result of its vast and successful operations, which involved thousands of actions.

**Israel Issues Warning to Residents of Southern Lebanon Regarding Return Home**

On Thursday, the Israeli military issued a stern warning to residents of southern Lebanon’s border villages, advising them against attempting to return to their homes.

Authorities have announced that residents are barred from traveling southward towards the line encompassing 10 villages and their adjacent areas pending further notice. This restriction also applies within the confines of the villages themselves.

The report highlighted the villages of Shebaa, Hebarieh, Marjeyoun, Arnoun, Yahmor, Qantara, Shaqra, Barashit, Yatar, and Mansouri.

The Israeli military has announced that it has no plans to target areas inhabited by civilians. Consequently, residents are advised not to return to their homes located north of the specified line until further instructions are issued.

The military has issued a warning stating that individuals who venture south of the designated line will be putting themselves in harm’s way.
