Iran: Syria’s future should rest solely in the hands of the Syrian people, free from any external interference

Iran has asserted that the future of Syria should be determined solely by its citizens, free from any external interference it deems "destructive."

On Sunday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry released a statement in response to the collapse of the Syrian government, after the capital city of Damascus was seized by militant forces, with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) at the forefront of the assault.

The declaration once more reiterated the Islamic Republic’s steadfast commitment to upholding Syria’s unity, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The statement highlighted the urgency of resolving ongoing military conflicts and halting terrorist activities to address the significant issue at hand. It stressed the importance of launching a national dialogue involving all facets of Syrian society, with the aim of establishing a government that inclusively represents the entire Syrian populace.
