World urged to mobilize efforts in halting ‘israel’s’ continued destruction of Syrian infrastructure, says Araghchi
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has called upon the international community to swiftly intervene to halt ongoing Israeli military actions in Syria. He emphasized that these actions have resulted in significant damage to both military and civilian infrastructure.

In a statement issued on Wednesday via the social media platform X, Araghchi criticized Israel for its continued attacks in Syria following the government’s collapse in Damascus earlier this weekend.
In a recent statement, it was alleged that the Israeli government has systematically targeted and dismantled nearly all defense and civilian infrastructure across Syria.
Since Sunday, the Israeli military has launched over 500 airstrikes on Syrian territory, extending its troop movements beyond a designated buffer zone in the occupied Golan Heights and further into Syria. This action has been widely criticized as a potential new “land grab” initiative by the Israeli regime.
Iranian diplomat Araghchi has condemned the actions of Israel, accusing it of causing damage to critical infrastructure in Syria and expanding its territorial occupation within the country. This move is said to be in violation of the 1974 disengagement agreement and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 350.
He stated that additional Syrian territory has been occupied, contravening both the 1974 disengagement agreement and United Nations Security Council Resolution 350.
He highlighted the ineffectiveness of the UN Security Council in tackling unlawful aggression, attributing this paralysis to what he described as “US obstruction.”
Araghchi urged Syria’s neighboring countries, along with the wider Arab and Muslim communities, to actively engage in addressing the ongoing situation.
He emphasized the urgent necessity for nations in the region to swiftly and efficiently collaborate to halt Israel’s aggressive actions and prevent further destruction in Syria.
Iran’s Foreign Minister has emphasized that any United Nations member state committed to upholding the rule of law and international principles must not remain inactive in response to what he described as violations by the Israeli government.
In a rapid and unexpected turn of events, armed militants under the leadership of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) have successfully seized control of Damascus, toppling the government of President Bashar al-Assad. The swift offensive, originating in northwestern Syria, culminated in the capture of the capital city in under two weeks, marking a significant power shift in the region.
Militant groups, designated as terrorist organizations by the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union, have reportedly received support from Western nations and Israel in efforts to topple the Assad government in Syria.
