Iranian security forces have apprehended individuals affiliated with a radical Takfiri network in Kermanshah province, located in the western region of the country.

Amir Feizi, the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor for Sarpol-e Zahab, announced to IRNA on Saturday that intelligence operatives from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) had been monitoring an extremist network within the city. The surveillance culminated in a successful intelligence operation leading to the arrest of the network’s members.

He stressed that the activities of hostile groups are being closely monitored and assured that firm measures will be implemented, with judicial backing, when required.

Feizi called on the public to promptly inform authorities of any activities deemed suspicious.

Sarpol-e Zahab, a region with a population exceeding 90,000, shares a border spanning over 48 kilometers with Iraq. Historically, it has been a hotspot for activity by Takfiri groups.
