Reports indicate casualties following a stabbing incident in the New York subway
A man resting in a subway car in Queens early Sunday morning fatally stabbed one of two alleged robbers attempting to steal his belongings, according to sources close to the investigation.

According to the Daily News, a violent incident occurred on a Manhattan-bound No. 7 train just after midnight, affecting two train cars.
According to sources, a 69-year-old man accused in a stabbing incident was reportedly asleep on the train, with his belongings nearby, when he was approached by a group of five men.
According to sources, an altercation ensued during which an individual brandished a knife, resulting in two members of the group sustaining injuries. A 32-year-old male suffered a stab wound to the chest, while another man received a slash wound to the face. The incident was captured in its entirety by subway surveillance cameras, sources confirmed.
According to police, emergency medical personnel transported both individuals to Elmhurst Hospital, however, the man who suffered a stab wound to the chest could not be revived.
Law enforcement officials have detained the individual involved in the stabbing incident, pending prosecutorial review to decide potential charges or a determination of self-defense, according to sources.
According to sources, the remaining three suspects fled the scene but were apprehended approximately two blocks away.
Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the deceased individual.
