The chief of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization has announced that the nation is moving forward with the development of the second and third units of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, situated in the southern region of the country.

In accordance with current legislation and following remarks by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, strategic plans are being developed to establish nuclear power facilities along the southern coastline of Iran. These efforts are focused on the regions of Bushehr, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan Provinces, as well as northern coastal areas, including Golestan Province, announced Mohammad Eslami on Tuesday.
He announced that the strategic planning set to unfold over the next 17 years is expected to culminate in the production of 20,000 megawatts of nuclear-generated electricity.
