Hezbollah leader underscores Lebanon’s enduring gratitude for Iranian and Iraqi support amid ‘israeli’ conflict

The Secretary-General of Lebanon's Hezbollah movement affirmed that the Lebanese populace remains deeply appreciative of the steadfast support provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq during Israel's aggressive air and ground operations against Lebanon.

In a live televised address broadcasted on Monday evening from Beirut, the Lebanese capital, Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a series of remarks.

“The triumph in Gaza is attributed to the Palestinian people, the regional countries that backed their efforts, and all proponents of liberty worldwide.”

The leader of Hezbollah stated that Israel’s strategy to dismantle the Gaza-based Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has been unsuccessful and has highlighted weaknesses within the Tel Aviv administration. He further claimed that the “Zionist enemy” would not have endured for a week without the unwavering support of the United States.

Sheikh Qassem stressed the importance of resistance as a strategy that is political, national, and humanitarian in nature, aimed at countering Israeli occupation and achieving the liberation of occupied territories.

He announced that the goals of the large-scale Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, initiated by Gaza-based resistance groups against the ruling regime on October 7, 2023, have been accomplished.

The leader of Hezbollah criticized Israel, accusing it of failing in its moral obligations and committing acts that could be seen as attempts to eliminate human lives. He further labeled Israel as a war criminal, claiming it was unable to secure the release of its captives without reaching an agreement with Hamas.

Sheikh Qassem characterized the Israeli military offensives in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip as acts of aggression, asserting that these actions receive unwavering support from the United States and specific Western governments.

The United States and Israel aimed to dismantle the Resistance. Nonetheless, the group demonstrated remarkable resilience and made significant sacrifices, ultimately achieving notable successes.

Hezbollah has demonstrated its ability to remain cohesive and swiftly fill the leadership void within days after the assassination of its Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in a significant Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut in late September.

“The heroes of the Resistance were evident to all, with the populace making significant sacrifices. As a result, the Resistance Front became unified and robust, swiftly addressing vacancies within a span of ten days.”

Sheikh Qassem announced that resistance efforts successfully hindered Israeli forces, limiting their advancement on Lebanese territory to only a few hundred meters. He further revealed that a ceasefire agreement with Israel, brokered in collaboration with the Lebanese government, is being hailed as a victory.

Hezbollah’s defensive capabilities have reportedly reached a level that sustains effective deterrence, according to statements made by a representative of the group. This development has led to a growing perception of Hezbollah’s military strength as formidable and enduring.

The leader of Hezbollah declared that while the organization remains fully committed to the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli counterpart has breached the accord on 1,350 occasions.

Sheikh Qassem has asserted that recent actions attributed to Zionist elements highlight the necessity of resistance efforts in Lebanon. According to Qassem, a campaign has been initiated to promote a misleading narrative of victory over the Resistance, which he claims is an attempt to undermine morale. He emphasized that such efforts have not succeeded and will never prevail. He further stated that the Resistance has consistently achieved triumphs and will continue to do so, crediting the sacrifices of its martyrs for these successes.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah emphasized the necessity for Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. He firmly stated that his organization rejects any rationale for prolonging the 60-day deadline established for the withdrawal by the agreement with the Tel Aviv administration.

The situation at hand involves an occupation force that is persistently mounting attacks and shows no intention of retreating. In light of this, the Resistance asserts its right to respond appropriately, in a manner and timing they deem suitable.

Sheikh Qassem declared that the territory in question is currently under occupation, urging all parties to acknowledge their responsibilities regarding the situation.

The leader of Hezbollah underscored the importance of fostering national unity in Lebanon.
