Hamas urges worldwide support for Palestine demonstrations on Quds Day 2025

The Palestinian militant group Hamas has issued a call for worldwide demonstrations this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to express solidarity with Gaza and Jerusalem. This comes as Israel, backed by the United States, persists in its military operations against Palestinians, which Hamas and others describe as genocidal, highlighting a lack of significant international response.

Hamas has issued a call for increased intensity and ongoing protests, as well as solidarity marches, to take place in various urban centers and capitals globally.

An appeal has been issued urging Palestinians, alongside Arab and Islamic communities and global supporters, to unite in a widespread rally from Friday to Sunday. The call to action aims to defend the regions of Gaza, al-Quds, and Al-Aqsa, bolster the Palestinian people’s resilience, oppose the occupation’s actions and strategic objectives concerning land, citizens, and sacred sites, and denounce U.S. assistance that supports such actions.

The movement has called for the urgent deployment of all available measures to break the blockade, halt the violence, and alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Hamas has called for concerted efforts and resources to be focused on aiding Gaza, emphasizing the need to heal the region’s wounds and bolster its ability to withstand challenges.

The organization issued a call for solidarity with the city of al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, emphasizing the need for ongoing pressure and the public exposure of the occupation’s alleged crimes, which include support from the United States. These efforts aim to put an end to the reported aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people.

Hamas has issued an appeal to leaders across the Arab and Islamic world, calling on them to assume a historic responsibility in response to what it characterizes as grievous crimes being committed by Israel against Palestine.

“They must implement concrete measures to end the conflict, lift the blockade on Gaza, and bolster the resilience of our people in their homeland,” a statement urged.

The announcement further urged religious leaders and scholars around the world to designate Friday as an international day of solidarity with Palestine, Gaza, Jerusalem, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This initiative aims to bolster Palestinian resilience and to advocate for the protection of their land and sacred locations.

“Mass activities, including marches and sit-ins, are urged to persist in the coming days until the current aggression concludes and both massacres and acts of genocide are brought to an end.”

Next Friday marks International Quds Day, an annual observance initiated by Ayatollah Seyyed Ruhollah Khomeini, the founding figure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, aimed at symbolizing Muslim unity in support of Palestine.

Quds Day is commemorated in more than 80 nations globally, including but not limited to the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, and Greece.
