Zionist-puppet UK Police arrest 9, including 6 young women, over meeting on Gaza genocide

The UK police have apprehended nine individuals, including six young women, in connection with a meeting aimed at discussing the ongoing situation in Gaza, which some have termed as a genocide.

Youth Demand, an organization supporting pro-Palestinian causes and campaigning for climate action and a halt to UK arms sales to Israel, announced on Friday that authorities have arrested a minimum of nine of its members and supporters. The arrests were accompanied by police raids on residences and events connected to the group.

On Thursday, a contingent of 30 Metropolitan Police officers conducted a raid at the Youth Demand Welcome Talk held at the Quaker Meeting House in Westminster. During the operation, six young women, including a first-time attendee and a journalist, were taken into custody.

In the early hours, authorities released three individuals; however, three others continue to be held in custody.

Authorities have announced the detention of individuals on charges of “conspiracy to cause a public nuisance.”

In a separate incident on Friday at approximately 8:00 am, law enforcement officials apprehended Youth Demand advocate Eddie Whittingham at his residence in Exeter. He has since been released without charge.

Three additional supporters were detained at a separate location. Subsequently, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday, authorities conducted a raid on the residence of another Youth Demand advocate, leading to their arrest.

Youth Demand reported on Instagram that UK authorities have apprehended nine individuals within a span of less than 20 hours.

The statement described the recent arrests at a welcome talk as an unprecedented degree of police repression in the UK, suggesting that such actions reflect a state apprehension in response to their perceived success.

The Welcome Talk aims to shed light on the current situation involving Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank, which some describe as acts of genocide against the Palestinian population. It also addresses the broader issue of mass casualties among marginalized communities worldwide, attributed to the intensifying climate crisis.

Ella Grace-Taylor, a 20-year-old actor and musician, expressed her concerns following her release after being detained. She accused UK politicians of complicity, alleging that they permit law enforcement agencies to conduct mass arrests and detain individuals who protest against the government’s role in facilitating actions described as an Israeli genocide.

In an emphatic statement, she accused those supplying arms to Israel and denying the characterization of the events as genocide of facilitating extensive loss of life. She highlighted the deaths of hundreds of children in Palestine over the past week, pledging to continue speaking out and not to be silenced.

A spokesperson for Youth Demand has issued a statement expressing concern that the UK government views the pro-Palestine organization as a “threat” because of their outspoken criticism of government actions they perceive as facilitating genocide.

A spokesperson emphasized that young people across the nation are uniting to bring London to a standstill day after day throughout April, asserting, “We will not be silenced.”

Youth Demand is set to kick off its month-long resistance campaign on April 1 at 6:30 p.m. on Mallet Street, just outside the Senate House Library.

The spokesperson emphasized that continuous collective resistance is essential to halting acts of genocide. By uniting in solidarity, the momentum of destructive forces can be brought to a complete halt. The call to action is clear: it is time to implement disruptions.
