Since Sunday morning, seventy-six Palestinians, including women and children, have lost their lives due to a series of intense Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip. The assaults have drawn significant condemnation, with the Hamas movement urging the international community to take immediate action to halt the ongoing hostilities.
An airstrike on a displacement camp west of Khan Yunis has resulted in the tragic loss of an entire family. Reports from the scene indicate that nine Palestinians, comprising women and children, perished in a bombing incident that struck a residential apartment in Hamad City, located north of Khan Yunis. Additionally, an assault on a house in Jouret al-Lut, another area in Khan Yunis, claimed six lives and left 10 others injured.
Devastating events unfolded in the Khan Yunis refugee camp as a late-night airstrike targeted a residential property, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. In another harrowing incident, two children lost their lives following the bombing of an apartment in Hamad City. Additionally, reports have surfaced of several casualties, including children, in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of Gaza City due to an Israeli airstrike on a residence.
Hostilities have persisted into Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim celebration that concludes Ramadan. Hamas has denounced the continued attacks, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of acting as a “war criminal” and attributing his actions to the perceived absence of accountability from the global community.
The resistance group has issued a global appeal to “free peoples” to mobilize and organize events aimed at urging governments to pressure Israel into ceasing its military actions in Gaza and the West Bank. Additionally, Hamas has called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to resume negotiations and facilitate prisoner exchanges.
The situation in Gaza has grown increasingly grave as the Palestinian Red Crescent, alongside Civil Defense Teams, discovered the bodies of 15 additional individuals who had been missing for over a week. These individuals were reportedly shot by Israeli forces in Rafah’s Tel al-Sultan neighborhood. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, some paramedics’ bodies were found bound, with gunshot wounds to the chest, and were buried in a deep pit to obscure their identification.
