Terrorist ‘israel’ Paralyzed by Ongoing Wildfires Sweeping Through Occupied Territories

Wildfires continue to sweep through areas near al-Quds and other Israeli-occupied territories for a second consecutive day, with the number of settlers evacuated exceeding 10,000.

Massive fires persisted for a second consecutive day on Thursday, engulfing regions surrounding the occupied city of al-Quds.

Authorities have implemented closures on major thoroughfares, resulting in the evacuation of thousands from multiple communities. According to reports, several individuals have sustained injuries, among which are cases of burns and smoke inhalation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced an emergency situation, cautioning that the wildfires pose a threat of reaching urban areas should containment efforts be unsuccessful.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Netanyahu announced that authorities had detained 18 individuals suspected of being involved in arson activities.

Netanyahu announced that authorities currently have 18 individuals in custody under suspicion of committing arson, with one person apprehended during the act.

Contrary to assertions made by Netanyahu, police sources informed Hebrew media outlets that merely three individuals have been apprehended on suspicion of arson. The sources indicated that these suspects are believed to have attempted to ignite additional fires, and there is no connection to the large-scale blazes near occupied al-Quds.

In reaction to allegations of arson, Ramy Abdu from the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stated, “Israeli propaganda has decided to attribute its shortcomings to Palestinians.”

A significant portion of the occupied territory has been consumed by raging fires, resulting in the destruction of thousands of acres of land, with numerous areas still actively burning.

The Israeli authorities have reached out to several nations, notably Greece, Cyprus, and Italy, seeking immediate assistance in firefighting efforts.

A massive blaze, identified by officials as one of the most significant in the area’s recorded history, ignited on Wednesday. It has swiftly expanded, fueled by arid weather and powerful winds. As reported by Israeli outlets, the financial implications of rebuilding in the aftermath could potentially escalate to millions of dollars.

The Israeli government has faced criticism for allegedly not taking the threat of wildfires seriously in recent years. Officials in Tel Aviv have been accused of disregarding repeated warnings concerning the nation’s insufficient preparedness to effectively manage and respond to wildfire threats.

Dov Ganem, the chairman of Israel’s Fire and Air Rescue Association, has voiced concerns to the Walla news outlet, stating that for 18 years warnings about inadequate preparedness for wildfires have been met with a lack of response from policymakers.

A claim has been raised that the New Israel Fund (NF), an organization based in the United States allegedly supporting settlers, has made the decision to plant non-native trees that are unsuitable for the local climate. This strategic move is said to be an effort to obscure the historical evidence of the Nakba.

The term “Nakba,” derived from Arabic and translating to “catastrophe,” describes the significant displacement and forced migration of Palestinians during the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948. This event is characterized by the mass expulsion and efforts to remove Palestinians from their ancestral lands.

A source claimed that Netanyahu prioritized allocating millions towards his personal luxury aircraft, known as the ‘Wings of Zion,’ rather than investing in a Supertanker for firefighting purposes. The source further alleged that settlers have been repeatedly implicated in acts of arson deemed as racially motivated fire terrorism, targeting the land, homes, and livelihoods of Palestinians.
