Islamic Iran Unveils Advanced Ballistic Missile ‘Qassem Basir’
Iran has announced the official unveiling of its newest ballistic missile, the Qassem Basir. This advanced solid-fuel missile boasts a range of 1,200 kilometers.

Qassem Basir, an enhanced variant of the Martyr Haj Qassem ballistic missile, was unveiled on Sunday.
Military officials report that the missile has been significantly upgraded, featuring a redesigned warhead that enhances its maneuverability and ability to evade missile defense systems.
The Qassem Basir is outfitted with a thermal imaging guidance system, bolstering its accuracy and increasing its resilience against electronic warfare tactics.
Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh announced that the newly developed missile achieved a successful launch from a distance exceeding 1,200 kilometers, accurately hitting its intended target without any deviation or dependence on GPS navigation.
Nasirzadeh highlighted that the missile’s capabilities have been upgraded to improve its guidance and maneuverability, enabling it to penetrate layered defense systems effectively.
He highlighted that throughout the testing phase, the missile was subjected to severe electronic interference, but it demonstrated resilience and remained unaffected.
In other segments of his speech, the defense minister accused Washington of sending mixed messages, displaying a willingness to engage in negotiations while simultaneously issuing threats of military intervention.
Nasirzadeh emphasized that Iran has historically refrained from initiating military conflicts and maintains its commitment to peace. Nonetheless, he issued a stern warning that Iran is prepared to respond robustly if provoked by an attack.
In response to potential military aggression from either the United States or Israel, the minister announced that Iran would strike their interests, bases, and personnel at any location considered necessary.
In a recent announcement, the defense minister revealed the successful testing of a newly developed ballistic missile, leveraging insights gained from the True Promise operations 1 and 2. These operations, undertaken by the Iranian Armed Forces, involved significant missile strikes against Israel last year.
Iran has declared that its military capabilities, encompassing its missile program, remain a non-negotiable aspect of its national defense strategy.
