Hezbollah’s Legendary Military Chief Commands Fighters to Hold Firm in Defense of Lebanon
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, recognized as a formidable defender of the nation, continues its stand against both Israeli actions and other threats.

Martyr Sayyed Zulfiqar is recognized as a formidable figure within the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, renowned for his role in defending the nation against both Israeli forces and takfiri adversaries. As an injured commander among the elite ranks of Hezbollah fighters, his legacy continues to inspire.
Mustafa Amin Badreddine, born on April 6, 1961, in Ghobeiry, a suburb located in the southern part of Beirut, Lebanon, spent his formative years in this neighborhood. It was from here that he began his journey into resistance activities.
Martyr Sayyed Zulfiqar emerged as a pivotal figure in the establishment of the Islamic Resistance during the early 1980s, playing a critical role in opposing the Israeli invasion of 1982. He was actively involved in the significant battle of Khaldeh, during which he sustained serious injuries.
In 1994, Martyr Badreddine assumed the role of Hezbollah’s military commander, significantly contributing to the establishment of deterrence strategies following the Israeli aggression on Lebanon in 1996.
Following the liberation of occupied territories in 2000 and the conflict against the Israeli military in 2006, Sayyed Zulfiqar spearheaded Hezbollah’s military operations against takfiri groups in Syria.
The video footage features Martyr Badreddine alongside a cadre of fallen leaders, such as General Qassem Suleimani, Hajj Ibrahim Akil, and Hajj Wissam Tawil, engaging in strategic military discussions regarding operations in Syria.
The video footage also shows the commander instructing Hezbollah fighters to withstand harsh conditions, including enduring stones and mountain terrains, in defense of the Lebanese population against takfiri groups.
In a broadcast speech commemorating the ninth anniversary of senior commander Sayyed Mustafa Badreddine, also known as Sayyed Zulfikar, Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem offered condolences to the family of Sayyed Badreddine. He also extended his sympathies to the families of martyrs in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, and other areas where sacrifices have been made in support of resistance. The speech was aired via Al-Manar TV.
He depicted Sayyed Badreddine as a key figure in the resistance against Israeli forces after the 1982 invasion, during which he was wounded in battle. Badreddine played a leading role in the acclaimed Ansariya operation in 1997, directly managing its implementation.
Sheikh Qassem highlighted Badreddine’s initial role in backing the Iranian revolution and his leadership in media initiatives, particularly in the coverage following the martyrdom of Hadi Nasrallah, the son of Hezbollah’s Secretary-General.
He was regarded as both a leader and a mentor, admired for his strategic acumen and cherished by his fellow servicemen.
