Iranian Parliament Asserts Firm Stance on Nuclear Rights

Iranian legislators have reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining its nuclear entitlements under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), notably its right to enrich uranium. This stance comes in defiance of American demands issued during indirect negotiations.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, lawmakers cited recent comments made by key U.S. negotiator Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, asserting that Iran should not be granted the right to uranium enrichment in any prospective agreement to replace the 2015 nuclear deal.

In a statement issued by the members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, it was asserted that the United States is heading towards a period of decline and fragility, dismissing recent claims as delusional and absurd.

The regime in question is accused of backing both state-sponsored and non-state terrorism. On the domestic front, it is confronted with widespread public demonstrations across numerous states. Internationally, the regime finds itself embroiled in disputes with over 100 nations, stemming from its enforcement of tariffs and unilateral policy decisions.

The statement criticized what it described as a lack of resolve by the United States government, suggesting this perceived weakness has resulted in a humiliating withdrawal from its enforced conflict with the steadfast and courageous nation of Yemen, alluding to the cessation of US airstrikes in the region.

According to the statement, after delivering stern warnings to Hamas and imposing deadlines over a period of months regarding the liberation of Israeli hostages, the United States found itself compelled to engage in negotiations with Hamas. Consequently, in return for the release of a prisoner holding dual nationality, the U.S. allowed the transit of humanitarian aid trucks.

Lawmakers have stated that Trump requires a significant achievement to bolster Republican prospects in the forthcoming Congressional elections, particularly following setbacks in resolving the war in Ukraine and other conflicts. To this end, Trump is actively engaging in negotiations with Iran.

A regime embroiled in significant internal turmoil and recurrent setbacks on the international stage lacks the authority to impose directives on any country, particularly on the sovereign and distinguished nation of Iran. The representatives of the American government are deemed too inconsequential to impose dictates upon the resilient and honorable people of Iran.

The statement emphasized that Iran’s nuclear activities and enrichment pursuits remain fully within the legal framework and align with the provisions of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) statute.

Lawmakers have asserted that, under Article IV of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), member states are entitled to pursue the research, development, production, and utilization of nuclear energy. Consequently, they emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran holds the legal right to access and benefit from the full nuclear fuel cycle, with particular emphasis on enrichment activities.

Lawmakers have asserted that Iran’s confidence-building initiatives, coupled with the ongoing inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), have demonstrated the peaceful orientation of the country’s nuclear program.

A statement asserted that Iran has neither sought nor currently seeks nuclear arms. It further accused the United States of being the sole nation to have employed nuclear weapons against other countries, highlighting its foundation through the conquest and displacement of indigenous populations.

The statement firmly declared that “the empty rhetoric of these criminals” will not sway Iran’s policies. It emphasized that lawmakers will not tolerate any form of overreach or arrogant behavior from the nation’s adversaries.

The government has pledged to utilize all available resources to unwaveringly protect the nation’s interests, ensuring that its actions align with established laws and policies.
