Iran Affirms Commitment to Maintaining Strong Ties with Saudi Arabia, Says FM Araghchi
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reaffirmed Iran's commitment to sustaining "brotherly" relations with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that Tehran is determined to prevent any forces from undermining the diplomatic ties.

Iran has reiterated its commitment to strengthening relations with Saudi Arabia, highlighting the kingdom’s crucial role in the region. According to a report by Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Araghchi emphasized on Thursday the importance of maintaining strong, fraternal ties, stating that the neighborhood policy is a longstanding priority and any disruption in these relations will not be tolerated.
Referring to the arrest of an Iranian pilgrim by Saudi authorities in Medina, the foreign minister emphasized that Tehran is maintaining continuous communication with Iranian representatives in Saudi Arabia to ensure the smooth dispatch of pilgrims to the annual Hajj pilgrimage and to address any related concerns.
In a statement released on his X account on Tuesday, Araghchi expressed Iran’s condemnation of any actions aimed at undermining Muslim unity, especially during the sacred period of the Hajj pilgrimage.
The Iranian Foreign Minister asserted the nation’s resolve to prevent any attempts to undermine its diplomatic relations with neighboring nations, including the progressive path with Saudi Arabia.
In a recent statement, the Saudi Minister emphasized the positive impact of warm relations between Tehran and Riyadh, highlighting the benefits for the Muslim world and the region at large.
Separately, Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister, Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, asserted on Wednesday that the nation’s robust and constructive relations with Iran will serve as an advantage to both the Muslim world and the broader region.
In a meeting held in Jeddah, Al Saud engaged in discussions with Alireza Bayat, the Head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization. The dialogue focused on various topics of mutual interest between the two parties.
Saudi Arabia has expressed its unwavering commitment to fully cooperate with Iran to address any requests concerning coordination among various entities to resolve issues pertaining to Iranian pilgrims.
He commended the strong relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, attributing the positive development to the mutual determination of both nations.
The minister underscored Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enforcing regulations aimed at ensuring the security and peace of all pilgrims arriving from the Muslim world to observe the annual rituals.
Al Saud expressed gratitude to Iranian officials and pilgrims for their cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
He underscored that the Saudi kingdom is committed to utilizing its fullest resources to aid pilgrims.
