Iran FM Visits Beirut, Pledges Continued Support for Lebanon Amid Ongoing Zionist ‘israeli’ Attacks
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has emphasized Iran's unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of ongoing Israeli violations.

The senior diplomat expressed these comments upon landing at Rafic Hariri International Airport in the city on Tuesday, following a trip to Egypt.
He announced to reporters, “I am set to meet with senior Lebanese officials today,” emphasizing that Iran remains resolute in nurturing these bilateral relations grounded in mutual respect and shared interests between the two nations.
An official emphasized the importance of Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty, highlighting its continued significance for the Islamic Republic and the broader West Asia region.
A statement reaffirmed Tehran’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing a commitment to these principles against what it referred to as the Zionist regime’s occupation. The pledge reflects Iran’s ongoing backing for Lebanon in maintaining its national rights.
**Iran Upholds Commitment to Non-Interference Principle**
Araghchi emphasized that the Islamic Republic’s assistance to Lebanon is not intended to be seen as political interference.
He stated that this represents the support of an allied nation for its friends in Lebanon and clarified that it does not constitute interference in Lebanon’s internal matters.
He emphasized that no nation within the region possesses the authority to meddle in the internal matters of neighboring countries, reinforcing his statement.
In response to a surge in Israeli military actions against Lebanon, Iran has reiterated its commitment to supporting the country.
On Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes targeted a residential complex in the southern suburbs of Beirut, resulting in the deaths of multiple civilians, among them a notable figure from Hezbollah and his son.
Iranian authorities swiftly denounced the assault, calling it a serious breach of international law.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized the Israeli government for allegedly violating a November 2024 ceasefire agreement on more than 2,000 occasions, while also condemning the lack of response from international guarantors.
He stated that this demonstrates the lack of credibility in the promises made by international players. He also criticized the United Nations Security Council for its silence on the “heinous crimes” perpetrated against Lebanon.
Baghaei further asserted that the United States and its Western allies were complicit in the Israeli actions, highlighting how their sustained military, political, and intelligence support for the regime has substantially empowered it to inflict injustices on the nations in the region.
Amid a backdrop of global inaction and the strengthening of the regime through its alliances, the spokesperson called on regional nations to take a stronger stance against Tel Aviv’s unrestrained policies.
The Israeli breaches continue despite the regime and Hezbollah reaching a ceasefire agreement in late November 2024, aimed at halting Tel Aviv’s escalated lethal assaults on the nation.
The attacks commenced the previous year, coinciding with the initiation of the regime’s genocidal conflict in Gaza.
The recent escalation in military strikes has resulted in the deaths of approximately 4,000 individuals in Lebanon, among them senior Hezbollah members who have been actively defending the nation against what they perceive as the regime’s aggressive military actions.
