IRGC Announces Escalation of Military Operations Against Israel
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a warning, indicating that Iran is prepared to intensify its military response should Israeli hostilities continue.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had carried out attacks on the military fuel infrastructure of Israel in response to recent strikes by the Israeli forces.
In the early hours of June 13, Israel launched a series of strikes on Iran, targeting areas including the capital, Tehran. In a significant escalation of tensions, the Israeli forces also targeted residential buildings in and around Tehran and reportedly assassinated several senior military officials. In response to the attacks, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, declared that Israel has cemented a “bitter and painful” destiny for itself.
According to a statement, the IRGC has initiated a significant drone and missile operation in retaliation to Israel’s actions, targeting facilities responsible for the production of fuel for Israeli fighter jets and energy supply centers.
The operation, named “Operation True Promise 3,” was launched as a direct countermeasure in response to acts of aggression by Israel.
The statement further disclosed that Iranian air defense systems successfully intercepted three cruise missiles, 10 drones, and numerous small hostile micro air vehicles in the affected areas.
