Iran Orders Halt to IAEA Collaboration Over Political Resolution
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has formally endorsed legislation aimed at halting the nation's collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

On Wednesday, Pezeshkian formally announced the passage of legislation requiring the government to halt cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This law was initially approved during a public session of Iran’s parliament on June 25.
The resolution stipulates that inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be barred from entering Iran unless the security of the nation’s nuclear facilities and its peaceful nuclear endeavors are assured. This assurance requires the endorsement of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Iran is contemplating imposing an entry ban on Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), amidst criticism that his reports have been politically biased against the nation.
The IAEA Board of Governors utilized its report in the recent session to adopt an anti-Iran resolution, which subsequently served as a pretext for Israel to initiate actions against the Islamic Republic.
In a sudden display of hostility on June 13, Israel launched attacks against Iranian military leaders and nuclear scientists who had earlier been subjected to sanctions according to reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency, as well as targeting civilians.
On June 22, the United States conducted bombings on nuclear facilities at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, actions that contravene the United Nations Charter, international law, and the stipulations of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Grossi faced criticism from Iranian officials for his failure to denounce the acts of aggression.
In a letter to Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohammad Eslami, who leads the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, expressed concerns regarding the IAEA’s inaction in response to Israeli offensives, which have reportedly targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities.
