Iranian Foreign Minister Cautions EU’s Detrimental Tactics Could Harm Diplomatic Efforts
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has issued a cautionary statement to the European Union regarding its "destructive approach" to Iran's nuclear program and the backing of Israeli actions by several European nations. Araghchi emphasized that these measures could exacerbate tensions and obstruct diplomatic initiatives.

In a phone call with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on Tuesday, Araghchi criticized the perceived leniency of certain parties towards what he termed as the illegal actions and crimes of the Israeli regime. He underscored the obligation of all governments to condemn the military actions carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran.
In response to public support for the attacks by Germany and several other European governments, Araghchi issued a warning. He stated that any declarations that implicitly or indirectly justify such clear violations of international law and the crimes committed by the Israeli regime would equate to complicity in those offenses.
The Iranian foreign minister emphasized the resolute stance of the Iranian people in safeguarding their territorial integrity and national security against military aggression from Israel and the United States. He characterized the assault on Iran’s peaceful nuclear installations and the killing of Iranian civilians as an unparalleled setback to diplomatic efforts, the non-proliferation framework, and UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
Araghchi declared that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran stand fully prepared to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty against any potential aggression.
A spokesperson stated that once the Zionist regime halted its attacks, the Islamic Republic of Iran reciprocated by suspending its defensive operations as a demonstration of goodwill. This action underscores Iran’s position that it neither instigated the conflict nor intends to perpetuate it, contrasting with what they describe as the aggressive nature of the Zionist entity.
Araghchi expressed Iran’s continued mistrust towards the United States, asserting that the Israeli and US military actions took place during Iran’s engagement in negotiations and diplomacy, and emphasized that it was the United States that undermined the diplomatic efforts.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that Kallas highlighted the absence of evidence indicating Iran’s expansion of its nuclear program for weapon development. She stressed the importance of finding a diplomatic resolution to the Iranian nuclear matter and endorsed current initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and advancing regional stability.
