Escalation in Gaza Conflict Pushes Martyr Toll Beyond 57,000 by Day 637

Zionist air and artillery operations persist across the Gaza Strip, marking the 637th consecutive day of activity.

Israeli air and artillery strikes have persisted across the Gaza Strip for the 637th straight day, as Israeli forces continue their prolonged offensive. The sustained attacks have led to additional civilian casualties, exacerbating a dire humanitarian crisis that is characterized by acute famine and widespread displacement impacting more than two million residents.

In a series of developments reported by PIC correspondents, numerous airstrikes have been conducted across the territory, resulting in further casualties and worsening the displacement crisis. The Israeli conflict is described as being supported politically and militarily by the United States, while the international community has been criticized for its “unprecedented silence and betrayal,” according to the source.

Recent Reports Indicate Fatalities

Medical sources at hospitals in Gaza have reported that Israeli air raids since early Friday have resulted in the deaths of several civilians. A specific attack on a residence in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, located in the southern part of Gaza City, led to numerous casualties and injuries.

In the southern region, reports indicate that at least 15 Palestinians lost their lives in an assault targeting tents housing displaced individuals west of Khan Yunis. Additionally, two more people were killed in a strike on a tent near the British hospital in Mawasi Khan Yunis.

Among the latest fatalities is Ashraf Khalil Muammar, a young man who died from injuries incurred in a previous airstrike on Khan Yunis.

Escalating Casualties and Growing Humanitarian Crisis

According to recent data provided by the Ministry of Health, the total number of deaths in Gaza has exceeded 57,113, with injuries reported for over 135,173 individuals. Additionally, there are more than 11,000 people unaccounted for. The humanitarian situation is further exacerbated by famine, resulting in numerous fatalities, while over two million Palestinians endure forced displacement amid widespread devastation.

The Ministry has reported that the fatalities include 6,572 children, while 23,132 children have been recorded as injured. These statistics are said to result from a breach of a ceasefire agreement on March 18, 2025.

Since May 27, around 652 Palestinians have been killed and 4,537 injured at aid distribution locations, which reports have labeled as “death traps.” Furthermore, 39 individuals are reported missing from these events. A group known as the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” reportedly with Israeli-American connections and dismissed by the UN, is alleged to be used to enforce conditions under the pretense of humanitarian efforts.

The reported fatalities across various professions comprise 1,581 healthcare workers, 115 civil defense members, 220 journalists, and 754 law enforcement and aid security personnel.

Widespread Tragedies and Devastation

The report claims that Israel has conducted over 15,000 so-called “massacres,” affecting in excess of 14,000 families. Additionally, it is reported that about 2,500 families have been entirely expunged from the civil registry.

According to information from the Government Media Office and United Nations sources, upwards of 88% of Gaza’s infrastructure has faced destruction, with total estimated losses surpassing $62 billion. Reports indicate that Israeli forces have extended their control, now occupying 77% of Gaza’s territory as a result of invasion and displacement activities.
