National satellite ‘Promise of Science, Industry’ launched successfully


Concurrent with the 33rd victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and on the order of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, national satellite ‘Promise of Science and Industry’ was launched into space successfully.
Ahmadinejad ordered sending the satellite into space on Friday morning via videoconference.

Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Minister of Science, Research and Technology Kamran Daneshjou and Head of State Spatial Organization Hamid Fazeli attended the control panel for the launch of the satellite.

While issuing the order for the launch of satellite, Ahmadinejad hoped that the measure will promise further friendship for humanity.

Commenting on the satellite and its specifications, Fazeli told IRNA that it is a remote-testing satellite which would film from the earth with higher precision.

Weighing 50 kilograms, the satellite which is of micro-type ones, have different applications in various fields such as meteorology, management of natural disasters and measuring the temperature and humidity of air, he noted.

Fazeli went on to say that the satellite is a fully indigenous product using sensors such as sun and magnetic ones.

The satellite was built by the students of Sharif University of Technology under supervision of Doctor Hossein Bolandi, a member of High Council of Space.
