Salehi meets Egyptian teachers and students of Persian language

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi has met a group of fifty Egyptian teachers and students of Persian language in the capital city of Tehran.

“Iranian and Egyptian nations share many common features and you are now in your second homeland,” Salehi said during the meeting.

He also referred to the high historical and cultural status of Egypt in the world saying that people of Iran and Egypt can have a leading role in the Islamic world.

“Unfortunately Iranian and Egyptian nations were detached for the past thirty years and we hope for better mutual relations between the two countries from now on,” Salehi said.

Iran’s Foreign Minister said the recent uprising in Egypt was a great regional and global event and expressed his hope that the people of Egypt continue their revolutionary movement and ensure a bright future for their country in the upcoming elections.
