Iran denounces any aid to Syria opposition forces
Iran’s special envoy to the UN counted the country’s policy regarding Syria crisis calling any financial or weaponry aid for the opposition forces as violation of human rights.
Mohammad Khazayee, Iran’s ambassador to the UN, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), rejected violence and destabilization in Syria saying any aid for the opposition forces in the country is a violation of UN and human rights charter.
Iranian official, attending the opening ceremony of 16th Non-aligned Movement (NAM) in the Iranian capital of Tehran, said the violence and destabilization in Syria is a disadvantage for all regional countries.
“The solution for Syria crisis is a reform by both Syrian nation and government.” he said adding, “Members of the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) have their principle and that is not supporting terrorism.”
16th summit of Non-aligned Movement (NAM) is underway in Tehran Summit Convention Center on Sunday 26-31 August 2012.
The summit is attended by more than 100 members of the movement.
Contrary to pressures to prevent participation of UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon is expected to arrive in Tehran on Wednesday, 29th August.
Middle East uprisings and Syria crisis are among the issues discussed in the meeting.
As the hosting country and a prominent member of the movement, Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that it will announce its proposals for the crisis in Syria.
