A gunman has shot dead two people and injured five others in southwestern Germany before fatally shooting himself, police say.

The incident took place following an argument during a Tuesday evening meeting of property owners’ association in a restaurant in the village of Dossenheim, five kilometers north of the city of Heidelberg, The Associated Press reported.

The verbal argument over property reportedly culminated with the gunman shooting the victims with a pistol before killing himself.

“The exact context, the motives and the sequence of events are for the moment still unclear,” said police spokesman Tobias Keilbach.

The wounded people were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment with one reported to be in critical condition

There were about 20 people in the restaurant during the shooting spree, initial reports said.
