A multitude of Lebanese mourners gathered to pay their respects to 120 Hezbollah fighters who lost their lives during the Israeli incursion
Over 120 Hezbollah combatants, who lost their lives in the conflict against Israeli forces, have been interred in southern Lebanon, underscoring the continued tensions in the region.

A significant mass funeral ceremony took place in the village of Aytaroun on Friday.
Thousands of mourners gathered, waving the flags of Lebanon and Hezbollah, to honor civilians and resistance fighters who have fallen in the wake of Israeli strikes.
In the lead-up to the funeral, Israeli forces reportedly discharged gunfire on the outskirts of Aytaroun, marking another breach of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
In a recent escalation of conflict, Hezbollah fighters were reported to have lost their lives during the Israeli military’s incursion into southern Lebanon in October and November 2024. The operation marked a significant increase in hostilities by the regime against Lebanon.
The Israeli military operations, characterized by continuous bombardments and ground invasions, have inflicted severe damage on Lebanon.
Since hostilities intensified in October 2023, approximately 4,000 Lebanese individuals, predominantly civilians, have lost their lives. The conflict has also forced the displacement of over one million residents.
In a significant escalation, Israel has reportedly carried out targeted assassinations of several senior Hezbollah figures, including the longstanding Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Among the casualties is Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, who had served as the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, along with multiple commanders and fighters from the militant group.
In a somber atmosphere filled with thousands of grieving well-wishers, both Lebanese and international, Nasrallah and Sefieddine were ceremoniously interred in Beirut, the capital, on February 23rd and 24th.
The Lebanese resistance movement responded to the aggression by launching a series of retaliatory attacks targeting key Israeli sites, utilizing all available resources.
According to official reports, the regime has reported that 120 individuals identified as Zionists have been killed in the retaliatory actions. However, Hezbollah and local Lebanese sources have presented a significantly higher death toll, alleging that the regime is deliberately underreporting the casualties to maintain an image of success in its intensified confrontation with Lebanon.
Hezbollah has pledged to persist in its opposition to Israeli occupation and hostilities, asserting that recent losses only serve to strengthen its determination to resist what it describes as Israeli atrocities.
The Israeli government’s military operations in Lebanon have mirrored its actions in the Palestinian territories, such as the Gaza Strip, where reports indicate that over 48,300 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have lost their lives.
Continuous bombardment, alongside a severe blockade, has resulted in a humanitarian crisis in the coastal region, prompting international organizations to frequently condemn alleged Israeli war crimes.
