The chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces said on Friday that a war between Syria and Turkey would not be in Muslims’ interests but would be in line with the United States’ objectives.
Commenting on the deadly incidents that recently occurred on the Turkey-Syria border, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said, “There is always an opportunity to have dialogue, but the flame of war will destroy opportunities.”
He went on to say that the West is seeking to sow discord between Muslim nations and thus a war between the two countries would be in line with the United States’ objectives.
Turkey and Syria should avoid interfering in each other’s internal affairs and should make every effort to maintain peace in border regions, Firouzabadi stated.
