Islamic-Iranian model of progress should be devised

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has said that an Islamic-Iranian model of progress should be devised.
Imam Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with the members of the high council of the center tasked with developing an Islamic-Iranian model of progress in Tehran on Monday.

A number of scholars attended the meeting during which the ways to develop a model based on Islamic and Iranian values were discussed.

In his speech, the Leader said, “During the whole process of devising this model Islamic principles must be taken into consideration comprehensively and meticulously.”

“Devising an Islamic-Iranian model of progress will actually be the presentation of the fruits of the Islamic Revolution,” the Leader said, adding that the ground must be prepared to promote such a model among the country’s intellectuals.

The Western model of progress has dominated the world and devising an Islamic-Iranian model requires courage and strong motivation, he said.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei added, “In devising an Islamic-Iranian model of progress, thought, science, spirituality, and life should be taken into consideration.”

Imam also said that the expertise of the young people should be used to develop the model.

In 2010, the Leader outlined the features of the Islamic-Iranian model of progress.

On the features of the model, the Leader said at the time that it should be flexible enough and the objectives should be specified clearly, but the strategies can be modified only with a change in circumstances.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei also said in 2010 that other major development and outlook plans should be devised based on the principles set out in this comprehensive model.
