OIC denounced ‘israel’s’ actions in Gaza, war crimes against Palestinians

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a strong denunciation of what it describes as Israel's genocidal actions against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The group has urged the international community to intervene and halt what they term as Israel's crimes and aggressive acts in the blockaded area.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the recent actions by Israel, which involved striking a United Nations-operated school sheltering displaced persons in the Al-Shati’ camp, located west of Gaza City. Additionally, Israel carried out bombings on the Nuseirat refugee camp and the town of Beit Lahiya, resulting in hundreds of casualties, predominantly comprising women and children.

The organization has condemned Israel’s recent actions as “flagrant violations of international law,” calling upon the international community to intervene and halt the alleged atrocities carried out by the occupying forces.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has urged for the consistent and sufficient delivery of humanitarian assistance to all areas of Gaza, with particular focus on the northern region. Additionally, the OIC has advocated for the provision of international protection for the Palestinian population.

The Government Media Office in Gaza has reported that Israeli airstrikes on multiple structures in the northern and central regions of the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least 96 Palestinians, with an additional 60 individuals sustaining injuries.

The media office reports that over 72 individuals have been killed in attacks in Beit Lahia, with an additional 24 Palestinians losing their lives in the Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps located in the central region of the besieged territory.

The office reported that the Israeli military had knowledge that these structures housed a significant number of displaced civilians, primarily consisting of women and children uprooted from their original communities.

The statement urged the international community to condemn the “horrific massacres against displaced civilians” and called for accountability from the Israeli administration and its international supporters, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France.

According to a report from Anadolu news agency, a medical source revealed that an Israeli airstrike earlier today struck a five-story residential building in Beit Lahiya. The incident resulted in approximately 50 fatalities, with additional individuals reportedly trapped beneath the debris.

According to reports from the Palestinian Civil Emergency, approximately 70 individuals were residing in the premises.

An Israeli airstrike reportedly hit a separate residence in the region, resulting in the deaths of 15 individuals and leaving several others wounded, according to a medical source.

According to the source, Israeli airstrikes targeted a home in Beit Lahia, resulting in the deaths of two additional Palestinians.

In a recent military operation, the Israeli Defense Forces deployed tanks into Beit Lahiya, as well as the neighboring towns of Beit Hanoun and Jabalia, last month. The military action was described as an offensive aimed at countering members of the Hamas resistance group, which has been launching retaliatory attacks. The operation also sought to disrupt any efforts by the group to reorganize.

For over 40 days, the towns have faced a severe siege, enduring a lack of essential supplies such as food, water, and medicine, while being subjected to relentless bombardment from airstrikes, artillery, and surveillance by Israeli drones and quadcopters.

On October 7, 2023, Israel initiated military action in Gaza following a surprise offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. This escalation came as a reaction to what Hamas describes as a prolonged period of violence and destruction inflicted on Palestinians by Israeli forces.

The ongoing military offensive in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of 43,799 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, with another 103,601 individuals sustaining injuries. Additionally, thousands remain unaccounted for and are feared to be trapped beneath the debris.
