Trump Signals Willingness to Negotiate for Iran Nuclear Deal Compromises

In the renewed indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, held in Muscat, Oman, an official from the US has indicated that Trump is willing to make concessions to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly referred to as the Iran nuclear deal.

U.S. and Iranian representatives are employing parallel rhetoric in expressing their main aim for Saturday’s crucial nuclear negotiations: to ascertain if their counterparts are genuinely committed or merely engaging in stalling tactics, as reported by Axios.

Trump emphasizes the urgency for Iran to secure an agreement swiftly; however, Tehran remains skeptical, given Trump’s earlier decision to exit the 2015 nuclear accord, according to two US officials speaking to Axios.

Trump announced on Monday that the United States has been engaged in “direct talks” with Iran. He also mentioned that a “very big meeting” with “very high-level” officials is scheduled for this Saturday.

Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, is set to head the U.S. delegation for nuclear negotiations with Iran on Saturday in Oman, according to two sources familiar with the arrangements, as reported by Axios.

Trump created a global stir on Monday with the announcement of a high-level meeting between officials from the United States and Iran, according to the report.
