President al-Assad Receives and Exchanges Congratulatory Cables with Leaders of Arab and Islamic Countries

President Bashar al-Assad received on Saturday a cable from the First Islamic Sharia Judge in Damascus Adel Bunduk stating that the first day of the holy month of Ramadan is on Monday, August 1, 2011.

The First Islamic Sharia Judge congratulated President al-Assad on this occasion, wishing him, his family and the Arab and Islamic nations prosperity and victory.

Among congratulators are Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, Minister of Justice Judge Tayseer Qala Awwad, Syria’s Grand Mufti and Head of the Supreme Council of Ifta (Islamic Fatwas) in Syria Sheikh Ahmed Badr-Eddin Hassoun.

The congratulators, in their cables, talked about the supreme meanings of this holy month, praying for Ramadan to carry blessings and prosperity, and expressing their confidence that Syria would overcome the plot it faces due to its national unity under the wise leadership of President al-Assad.

President al-Assad exchanged congratulatory cables with kings, presidents and leaders of the Arab and Islamic states on the occasion.

In his cables, President al-Assad expressed his sincerest congratulations and best wishes on this blessed occasion.

President al-Assad also received several congratulatory cables where their senders expressed their sincerest congratulations and best wishes to President al-Assad and the Syrian people.
