Ahmadinejad appoints environmental VP

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has appointed Governor of Khorasan Razavi Province as his Vice-President and Head of the Department of the Environment.

Mohammad-Javad Mohammadizadeh has been appointed by president Ahmadinejad as Iran’s Vice-President for Environmental Protection and Head of the Department of the Environment (DoE).

Mohammadizadeh has served as Governor of Khorasan Razavi Province prior to Ahmadinejad’s appointment.

He was also the Deputy Tehran Mayor for urban services, when president Ahmadinejad was the mayor of the Iranian capital Tehran from 2003 to 2005.

“According to your work experience in management, I appoint you [Mohammad-Javad Mohammadizadeh], as the VP and Head of the Department of the Environment,” the Iranian president said in a decree.

The Department of the Environment is required to plan in utilizing the latest technologies and management procedures in private and public sectors.
