Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says regional and global issues cannot be resolved through military action.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is of the opinion that the solution to the current regional and global issues is not a military one and that the only way out is to return to humanity, justice, morality, culture and deliberation,” President Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday at a gathering of foreign diplomats in Tehran.
He added that the intervention of foreign forces in the region, including Iraq and Afghanistan, have only added to the problems without bringing peace and security back to the region.
“The presence of foreign [forces] in Afghanistan, Iraq and the region as well as the establishment of military bases have brought nothing but insecurity, division and the deaths of innocent people.”
President Ahmadinejad added that Iran “seeks to expand relations and cooperation with all the countries [in the world], except for the Zionist regime [of Israel].”
