U.S, Israel-backed and financed terrorist acts on rise in Syria

Syria says terrorist acts committed by armed groups have increased over the past few days despite reaching an understanding on a peace plan proposed by the UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan.

Damascus sent a message to the United Nations on Friday saying that terrorist acts are on the rise in the country while the UN hopes a full ceasefire will take effect next week.

Anna’s six-point peace plan, which has been accepted by the Syrian government, calls on all groups to stop violence.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army has clashed with armed men on Homs-al-Qseir highway near Kafar A’ayar area, killing a number of terrorists and arresting several others. Syrian soldiers also confiscated various types of weapons, including American sniper-rifles as well as US and Israeli-made grenades, from the group.

According to Press TV correspondent in Syria, the terrorist group was also equipped with high-tech communication devices, including satellite phones.

Since the beginning of unrest in Syria, the army has seized large amounts of weapons and ammunitions smuggled into the country to be used by terrorist groups fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Syrian government troops have also foiled several attempts to covertly enter the country from Turkey and Lebanon during the year-long crisis.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March of last year.

While the West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of the killings, Damascus blames ”outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.

In interviews with Zionist Israeli news outlets over the past few months, the Syrian armed rebels have clearly expressed their vision for the future of Syria and their interest in establishing ties with the Tel Aviv regime, which has occupied and annexed Syria’s Golan Heights since 1967.

However, the apparent majority of the Syrian population has repeatedly expressed their solidarity with the government of President Bashar al-Assad and its backing of resistance movements struggling to bring an end to the Zionist Israeli occupation of Palestine.
