Air raid sirens resonate throughout occupied Tel Aviv as Hezbollah launches missile barrage

Air raid sirens were activated in Tel Aviv and neighboring areas as Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, launched a series of missile attacks against the city. This escalation comes in response to intensified military actions by Israeli forces against Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen news channel, reports on Sunday indicated that over five heavy and long-range missiles were launched targeting a military installation in Tel Aviv.

Hebrew-language media reports indicate that a minimum of ten Israelis have sustained injuries following rocket attacks in the areas of Petah Tikva, located east of Tel Aviv, as well as in Haifa and Nahariya.

Reports from Israeli media indicate that rockets launched from Lebanon have resulted in explosions being heard in central Tel Aviv.

Hezbollah announced in a statement that it had launched an operation targeting a “military target” in Tel Aviv, employing “a barrage of advanced missiles and a swarm of strike drones.”

The Israeli Defense Forces reported that Hezbollah launched approximately 160 projectiles from Lebanese territory on Sunday.

Hezbollah has announced that it has fired a series of missiles targeting the Glilot army intelligence base located in the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

Furthermore, the resistance group reported it successfully targeted an Israeli Merkava tank near the town of Al-Bayada in southern Lebanon using a guided missile. The group claimed that the attack resulted in the casualties or injuries of the tank’s crew members.

In an independent communiqué, Hezbollah announced that its operatives executed a drone assault targeting the Ashdod naval base, located in the southern region of the disputed territories.

The resistance organization announced it has executed an unprecedented aerial assault on the Ashdod naval base utilizing a swarm of strike drones.

Hezbollah conducted a series of at least 36 counterattacks on Sunday, targeting Israeli military installations and settlements in Tel Aviv, its surrounding areas, and Haifa, according to reports.

Since October 2023, Israel has engaged in military actions involving cross-border operations targeting Lebanon, coinciding with its ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Hezbollah has launched a series of retaliatory operations in response to recent hostilities, specifically targeting areas within the occupied Palestinian territories.

Since late September, Israel has intensified its military operations against Hezbollah, resulting in the assassination of its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, along with several other high-ranking members of the organization.

The health ministry reports that Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 3,600 individuals and injuries to 15,400 others since the hostilities erupted last year.

The Lebanese resistance group has pledged to persist in its actions against Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 44,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, as reported.
