Al-Anbar clashes are not sectarian

Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Hushyar Zebari, has said on Saturday that the current clashes in Al-Anbar Province in western Iraq are not sectarian in nature.

According to IRIB World Service, Iraqi foreign minister referred to the Iraqi army operations for annihilation of the terrorist outfits in the Western Iraqi Province of Al-Anbar, while pointing out that terrorist organizations pose a threat against Iraq and the regional countries.
He went on to emphasize that the Iraqi administration is the first party responsible for establishment of security in the country and for provision of services.
As of December 21, 2013, the Iraqi army, which is supported by the overwhelming majority of Iraqi people and political groups, has staged clean-up operations, to purge Al-Anbar Province from terrorist groups. These operations have been highly successful.
