Al-Arabi welcomes Muallem’s statement about initiating talks with the armed opposition

The General Secretary of Arab League Nabil al-Arabi has welcomed the statements, which were declared by the Syrian Foreign minister Walid al-Muallem in Moscow yesterday about the readiness of the Syrian authorities to initiate the talks with the opposition even the armed one.

Al-Arabi said in a journalist statement issued yesterday that “He wishes that these talks would begin as fast as possible to be as a beginning to terminate the violence in Syria and as an introduction to the political solution, as he wishes that this dialogue would achieve the people’s aspiration of freedom and democracy”.

Where al-Muallem said during his visit to Moscow that “We are ready for the talks with all who want to talk, even those who carry the weapon because we believe that the reformation will not be achieved through the bloodshed, but through the talks”.
